KORCOS JOB-ALIKE Meeting (JAMS) CRITERIA (Updated November 2020)
PURPOSE:
As a professional learning tool, Meet-Ups and Job-Alikes provide an opportunity for professionals in similar positions to share their experiences and perspectives on issues and best-practices. If you’ would like to host a job-alike please fill out this form
COMMUNICATION:
Would-be Job-Alike Facilitators – Please email the KORCOS Communications Director (communications@korcos.net) with the following information so it can be distributed to all member schools in a timely fashion. NOTE – Notice of All Job-Alikes should be distributed at least 30 days before the actual event:
- name and email of organizer/facilitator;
- host school;
- location, date, time, and duration of the event;
- topic/subject (e.g. AP Chemistry, ES Math, Early Childhood, Nurses, etc.); and
- link to registration/sign-up form
HELPFUL TIPS:
Consider the following in organizing/hosting your session/event:
- Be prepared to raise thought-provoking questions to encourage and enliven discussion.
- Have a focus for what you wish for your meeting to accomplish.
- Contact registered attendees at least seven days in advance to develop an agenda that reflects their interests and needs.
- Consider discussion protocols to help all voices be heard.
- Share suggestions from participants on their needs for future meetings, conferences and/or possible presenters, internal or external.
KORCOS SUBSIDY:
After a successful event, submit receipts for reimbursement from KORCOS.
Reimbursable expenses for lunch, and snacks include 15,000 KRW/per person, up to a maximum of 375,000 KRW (or 25 KORCOS member-school participants). Additional funding for supplies, incidentals, and/or additional participants may be available on an as needed basis, and at the discretion of the KORCOS Executive Board.
Please submit all expense-related requests and information, including receipts, via email to the KORCOS Finance Director, at finance@korcos.net
OTHER INFORMATION:
If a non-KORCOS member school participant would like to attend any job-alike event (or other such meeting), the hosting school should use its discretion for any fees deemed appropriate; this decision is independent of KORCOS.
