During the 27th annual KORCOS International Education Conference at Chadwick International, a new sub-conference was introduced – the very first “Student Leadership Institute”. The guiding principles were to bring student leader from KORCOS member schools together to develop leadership skill, become inspired to take action, and to take what they have learned back to their schools and communities and make significant positive change happen wherever they are at.
KORCOS has continued to support the International Youth Leadership Institute (IYLI) as part of its ongoing mission to promote the development of student leaders. The Youth Leadership Institute is designed to place youth leaders in charge of significant portions of the creation of the conference. Under the supervision of adult staff, the students are placed in positions where they will actively serve as leaders for the conference. The IYLI believes that students should be taught and developed by being placed in positions of significant leadership where they will grow and develop using the skills we expect them to learn.
This year, Chadwick International will again host the 2016 International Youth Leadership Institute on Saturday, April 2nd. We are encouraging all KORCOS member schools, all international schools in Korea, and local Korean schools to send students to this event. This years’ theme is “Putting the Pieces Together”. We look forward to you attendance at this youth leadership event!
